Great to see everyone's projects!
I finished my Encircled Love that I found at kittensandthreads.com
20" circle - great instructions (and it's a free pattern!)
I'd like to do another in different colors for a wallhanging.

I worked very hard trying to finish my DD's and SIL's quilt top. But I hit a snag--the pattern calls for a narrow 'bright' border before the final border and I just don't think the fabric I picked is going to work. It just doesn't 'look' like my DD. The pattern is Optical Illusion by Maaike Bakker and it went together beautifully. Of course all those bias edges were a bit of a challenge. I will be hitting a couple of LQS's tomorrow hoping to find 'that perfect colour' to finish this baby.

you did a great job choosing the main fabrics - you really achieved the 3D effect... what did you pick for the bright border? And what colour is the final border?

My week-end is over, we're 10 hours ahead of you all in North America. Didn't finish but I'm happy with my progress. I still have more outline quilting to do, but I needed a break from it so I went ahead and cut the binding and sewed it on. I often do that once I've quilted my project enough to stabilize it - I just like to get rid of any extra bulk since I'm doing this on a DSM. Probably shouldn't - but it hasn't caused me any grief ... yet.

OhCanada (BTW love your handle!) I have a red with very small black and grey dots but it just doesn't pop like I think it should. The final border will be 3 inches wide and will be the same colour as the darkest zigzag. I am thinking maybe an emerald green or a turquoise or even a deeper crimson...don't know but hope to find something tomorrow.

And I love your quilt. I shall have to remember that little tip--bind before quilting to limit bulk. If it is well basted or pinned, I don't see it causing a problem either.

You're welcome, QuiltingVagabond. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. See you in March.
