Virtual Quilting Weekend 1/29-1/31/16
#92
Time to switch to hand work, this is the machine work this weekend, I need to get some flannel for the coasters then some simple quilting then they will be finished.

Managed to get 6 of the 365 blocks done, only about 15 days behind. Not planning on doing it as a quilt, want to create several wall hangings and maybe a lap quilt and table runner.
This is my GFG hand work, have 2 more rows left to attach.

Like I said earlier, WIP about 18 months of on and off hand work left.
Love seeing all the great pictures, thanks for a fun weekend!

I'm doing a quilt from MSQC with a jelly roll. Had most of the strips sewn together and cut into squares but had a few strips left. Then the fun (not) started. First, I went to wind a bobbin and started the thread the wrong way and it wound under the thing that holds the bobbin during winding so I had to manually unwind it. Then I forgot to move my needle and near broke it on my 1/4 inch foot. Next, my thread tangled while sewing..under the plate. So I took things apart and removed the tangle, THEN noticed how much fuzz was in there and had to clean it. Finally got the strips together and cut into squares. Is it Friday the 13th or what? LOL!

Posting this one last project. Worked on it last night, but too tired to post. It is the label for the watermelon quilt above.
A BIG thanks to Raggiemom for having the quilt week-end. It really gets the juices going.

I finished January and February blocks for the BOM I'm doing with my LQS. I started the 1st block for the BOM my son sent me. Thanks for starting the virtual quilting weekend thread. I enjoyed it. I'm going to work on two more blocks this week. I have enjoyed the beautiful projects you have all done.

happylab-What a beautiful doll quilt! The darker pinks really make the quilt pop.
dedemac- Beautiful coasters and your GFG is stunning!
giquilt- That is the cutest watermelon quilt. I have never seen a pattern like that.
quiltngolfer- Those are some stunning batik blocks. I really like bright batiks. This will be a stunning quilt.

Quiltngolfer - Those blocks look great! Looks like it is going to be a happy quilt, the two blocks make me smile!
Giquilt - the watermelon quilt makes me want to go get a nice slice of melon, the seeds adds at little extra.
OhCanada - great progress, would love to see a close up of the quilting.
Quiltingvagabond - your Allietare is looking good, I followed Bonnie's posts but never got the courage to do one.
