All 4 of mine are laid flat on one end of my cutting table.

My large rulers are hanging on one of my peg boards. For the smaller rulers with holes, I use one of those large rings that you get at the office supply store, I sort them by shape and hang them on the peg board. For the ones without a hole, I store flat in one of those containers that are made to store scrapbook paper.

[QUOTE=nativetexan;7761298]my larger ones are in a wooden holder that has slats cut in it.

This works well for me too!

I also have a pegboard on the wall. Mine is 4' x 6' and I've added some hooks from the hardware store. I keep all kinds of things on it - scissors, rotary cutters, rulers, spools of ribbon, you name it.

I sew in my dining room, so the rulers all fit nicely between the china hutch and the wine rack. My cutting mats slide nicely under the hutch.

I don't have room for a pegboard either....so I use the small metal command hooks and hang them on whatever surface that has the space. Mainly on the outsides of the cabinets I have for other storage. And on the insides of some cabinet doors. I have plastic cabinets and no other way to hang anything on the sides of those without the command hooks. The space behind the door is used for hanging embroidery machine hoops also with command hooks. Those little command hooks are great and can hold a couple of rulers. No damage, can remove and re-configure the space as needed.

I store mine in a large open cubby area under my cutting table.

I thought I was so clever when my DH installed screws on the side of one of my sewing room cabinets UNTIL I accidentally missed the screw when hanging my 8 1/2 square and it slid down the cabinet onto the CONCRETE floor. I now have a bum corner on that ruler and am looking for a good sale to pick up a replacement. I'm not much of a fan of hanging now.

I too hang them on a peg board, the small ones, I place in a large freezer bag and also hang on peg board, this works best for me.

Two nails in the closet wall. One for "square/rectangular" rulers and one for "other". Super easy and works beautifully!
