if you add rows, you're going to get the "pinks in the center" on every other row. Unless you offset your blocks by 1/2.

I like the second one better- the scrappy one. I ordered those rulers- can't wait to get them!
All your fabrics are pretty- either way it's going to be nice!

I think the pink dominates in this so I like the first one. All I see of the second one is chopped up pink and I don't see the green without really looking for it.

I, too, like the pink. My mind usually goes for distinctive patterns. Everyone has their preferences.

I think I will go with the pink centers. I tried mixing up the different pink fabrics in the centers but that just didn't look right. I am not sure how big this will get but I have the pieces for the next square and more scraps to cut. I thought the darker pink bit on the right would look good but I see by taking this picture, it is too dark to go with the other pinks. This is turning out to be a good way to use up fabric pieces that are not really big enough to do anything else with.

This is the set that Jane Quilter sent me for an early Christmas surprise. They are by Creative Grid and the edges have a non slip strip that makes them stay put on the fabric. The cut off dog ears also make the pieces really easy to match up. I am having such fun with them.

Don't mean to be a "spoil sport", but I didn't think the actual purpose of the Scrap Crazy rulers was to form patterns, but to use all kinds of scraps. If one wanted to do this, of course, it's fine . . . but I wanted the rulers to make crazy blocks, and I thought that was the purpose. I personally don't care for the pattern.

To each their own. If you look at the colour value of these fabrics, you will see that they have similar value. Unless I wanted a giant blue/green blob, it needed a pop of colour. I watched a couple of videos with the templates and unless you can do a true scrappy (no matching fabrics) you are going to have unfortunate fabric placements. If you want to do scrappy. Go for it.

Tartan, mine came on Saturday but I haven't had a chance to use them yet. I'm excited! I need to watch the videos. Thanks
