What’s Up With This Ruler?

I have vision issues and have a lot of problems reading the rulers. It can help to slip a piece of paper (I like envelopes for the extra crispness and I usually have them easily available) under the cut side that contrasts with the fabric, so if it is dark use a regular white envelope, if it is light find a colored one. I figured out that hack years ago when I was using a piece of fabric that was exactly Olfa green and using that brand of ruler!
Years ago when I tried various grippers/rulers with grippers I didn't like them much. I preferred having the slide factor for a number of reasons, as well as being able to use either side of the ruler. I do on occasion use the removable sandpaper dots to hold small rulers/templates well.
About a year ago after a similar thread here I found an old Quilter's Rule at the Goodwill. It has become my go-to 6.5" long ruler. Love the grip on it. There is another lady in my group who is a fan of gripping rulers, she brought some clear tape stuff she has to put on regular rulers.

I am not fond of my gridded Quilter's Rule Rulers.

Thank you, Susie! lol You'd think if a company is going to make quilting rulers, they'd consult quilters first. I believe this board is a perfect sampling of quilters and, so far, no one has liked them.

I will be replacing all my rulers with Quilter Select, one at a time, they are a bit pricey for my budget right now. I I chose just one what would you all suggest? I am thinking the 24"x6" will give me the best bang for my buck. The only thing is it is cumbersome on smaller items.

Re Quilter's Select ruler....I never heard of the brand but I love it just looking at it! Not exactly easy to find them to buy but I did find a place. Great find! Thank you!

QS rulers comes in whole inch sizes and in 1/2 sizes. example: 6 inch wide or 6 1/2 inch wide. Be sure what you buy is the size you are thinking. My favorite size right now is the 10" square. The Quilt Show website has the rulers on sale several times a year.

Ugh. I really dislike All my omnigrid yellow rulers. Replacing them All with creative grids. Handing them down to my sister until she can buy others. I simply can’t see the fabric thru the yellow! And creative grids have the nice grippy
