Guess what came in the mail today? Yep...that's right... I received my swap present from Cissie (CCTX). THANK YOU!!!!!

It's wonderful. The pictures don't do it justice but I liked it so much I had to open it up at the post office and immediately took a snapshot of it. It's sort of hard to see but the backing color is the same material as the purple binding.

Here is a close up of the stitching she did on the black. Isn't it great?!

I have a wall hanging from another swap which has black and white and blues in it. This will go great next to that one. That's a geometric design also. :)

The post man was good to me yesterday, these were left on my porch from Stippleing Queen. They are beautiful, and will get a workout when I visit my daughter's next month. Thank you June!

That is so adorable! I'd never have thought about doing that (but then I can't sew). LOL.

Stippleing queen and I were surprising one another, I received a wonderful surprise in the sewing bag, pin cushion and needle case.
In one of the earlier swaps I mentioned it was my first applique project and since then have been continued in other applique projects. I find it easier to have a hard surface to work off of on my lap. This is my version of a lap board. I created this one for me to see if it would work and then one for Stippleing queen.
Thanks for asking and looking. Oops didn't mean to show the cat hair, the cats decide to use the strangest things for a bed.

Lap board opened flat with pockets to hold things

Very nice emc1118 - thank you so much for sharing a view of your project since Stippleing Queen couldn't post. Great idea. I love seeing all these neat things.

Yesterday I received the greatest thing -- a case for my Kindle!!..Kathy N was my swap partner. Isn't it beautiful?? The fabric is gorgeous -- I love the rich, bright colors. It fits perfectly in my purse (I carry my Kindle wherever I go). Thank you so much!!! I will think of you every time I take it out to read.

Note the braid along the edge of the case

That will satisfy the visual, it's beautiful; touch, it is made out of fabric and quilted; and second to quilting, I read whenever I get the chance.
