    That is hysterical! There is nothing like a convert! I once asked my father-in-law if he would like me to convert to his religion. He said, "Heavens No! We love who you are and you would drive us crazy! Converts are much to serious." I hope your sister gets over herself! Just remember to laugh at her!

    I can beat all of you! My sister doesn't know how to quilt, has no desire to do so - BUT - she can always tell ME how I should do it! :)

    I have to laugh - I have two sisters and I feel your pain! One piece of advice though: Beat her with your rulers, the stash is too soft (and you have too many of those darn rulers anyway!)

    Good that you have a sense of humor about it, and eventually she will learn enough to realize when it comes to quilting the rules are really more like guidelines! :lol:

    I do things the way they work out best for me and am always looking for a faster, easier, more accurate way. My two Late Sisters did not quilt. Neither had seen any of my quilts, oldest would have critized. She sewed clothes but, never made a quilt, she would have been an expert on it anyway. Just the way she was.

    Well they say all things mellow with time (or is that rot with time??LOL) well hopefully she will mellow out and you both will have a good laugh over it all while you are quilting !

    I have a sister in law who knows all and states that she does, funny part is when she told me knew how to sew-her hubby said she has no idea about how to even thread a needle !LOL She is a joke around our house ...

    Well, if you beat her to death with your stash, try not to get blood on the fabric....

    I use my rotary cutter improperly.
    My bobbin thread is not always the same color as the top thread.
    I incorrectly mix my fabrics in the same quilt. ( Joanns, WalMart and LQS) Oh! The horror!!
    I sometimes use a sheet for backing.
    I sometimes use dishes, lids or whatever instead of proper templates.
    I don't really NEED all the rulers I have.

    I don't always follow the pattern.
    Bless her well meaning heart, I love her dearly but if she says just ONE MORE thing about my methods or lack thereof, I will beat her to death with my stash.
    I sent her the link to this board, she will learn much more here from all of you talented folks.
    Just think - - - after you've killed her, you can bury her in a quilt you made using all of the 'wrong' techniques (-;

    I'm sure she means well, and will soon learn from you that there is more than one way to do something - be patient (and keep that quilt handy in case your patience really does run out).
