I just ordered more Batik fabrics so I will be ready. I went through my stash and ordered colors that were lacking or mostly used up with my current project.

Sorry to be a consistent nuisance But has anyone with Windows 8 downloaded the software for the 50 stars?
I have the book but no way am interested in 12" blocks. thanks again~
the factory site does not indicate it is compatible with Win8.

Sounds like we will have lots of batik stars.

Jan--I am sure your quilt will be beautiful! You just have to put the blocks together and not in "the box".

KalamaQuilts--sorry, I only have Win7. I would just contact them...I went to their "contact technical support" page and they have Win8 listed in their "operating system" drop down. http://quiltpro.com/tech/contact.php

Jan, you posted the blocks you finished but I can't remember where. They are beautiful, that I do remember
The only consistent factor in my 50 Stars is the background. The stars will be scrappy, sometimes batiks, sometimes not, sometimes a mix of batiks and 'normal' fabrics.
As I keep forgetting I have several other projects going too I might have to go on an online FART too I do have enough fabric for now but I'm sure I will run out of certain colours.

Too funny JanRN, just keep them out of the box that will never be opened

Looks like we are going to have a large group all eager and ready for lots of fun

I have loved the idea of mixing batiks with "normal" fabrics since seeing and owning three books by Edyta Sitar. She sure knows how to mix them very well together. I just don't have the confidence to be able to choose well. But I know the mix would make a beautiful quilt.

Got the book, it's in my stocking this year. Yeah! I have mixed fabrics with batiks, it's easy, you just step back and see if anything conflicts with it's neighbor. It's great when you know the color you need but don't have it in batiks. Now the decision of dark or light background?

In case anyone missed out on the sale, I just got an email from quilt-pro and the 50 Stars foundation factory is on sale today only. This is a stand along program (you don't have to have quilt-pro to run it). http://www.quiltpro.com/page/Foundat...0_Fab_Mainpage (oh and I don't get anything for telling you about this, I just think it is a great addition to the book!)
