I spray bast my quilts but still use some pins to keep it from moving until I get to quilt it.

You can also buy caulking backer rod at the hardware store for around $5 and cut it into pieces and you get about 300 homemade pinmoors.

I use pinmoor's as well. They have sales from time to time. My husband bought me a package of 50. we cut them in half and I have a hundred. I had used safety pins, but,I find the pinmoor's much easier to use.

I tried the backing rod when it was posted before. Anything a pin will stick into will work but so far nothing has compared to the Pinmore in doing the best job for me.

I made mine from those foam earplugs. Just cut them in half.

I love the basting spray, I will not go back to pin basting. The time saved from not pinning and the frustration of having to move the pins out of the way as you quilt make the basing sprays totally worth the cost to me. My favorite spray is the 505. Occasionally you can get a sale at JoAnns.com, online, on the 505 and other basting sprays at 50% off. Twice now I have bought a case of it for 50% off

That was me who bought the erasers and they work great. They were in a package of 6 or 7 for a dollar and I cut them up and they work just fine. I thought the Pinmores we just too expensive.

I made my own pinmoors from insulation tubes. I prefer to spray baste my quilts. I go to Wal-Mart
and buy the spray baste for about 1/2 the price that you will find at Jo-Ann's. You do not need to
use a lot of the spray for it to hold your layers together.
