what to do with old text books and other books?

Please check out half price books. They buy ALL books, and you will be surprised at the amount of money you will get. I am always surprised. I believe they pay 1/4 of the retail value in cash. At least they did the last time I brought in books.

Call the library first before sending to recycyling. Also the Salvation army and Goodwill and whatever thrift stores there are. You would not believe the old books that are sold there. I hate for good books to be made into paper again, someone will buy these books.

I sold some old books to CKY books http://www.ckybooks.com/
They credited my paypal account and then I sent the money to my checking account. It took me a while to decide on which group to use as there are many that say they will buy your books then once you send them, knock down the price or reject them altogether. The prices do add up. It wasn't a lot, but they paid the shipping so it didn't cost me anything to do this. Of course I still have a lot of books that no one seems to want. If you have the time and the energy you might try selling them on amazon.

I am sure your local library would like to have them. Even if they don't place them on their shelves most libraries have an annual sale of books to raise money for their operating costs and to purchase new books. If they have a college near by that specializes in his field they might be interested in having them. Some older books are hard to find and sell for quite a bit on Ebay. Ann in TN
