If you sign up for Freecycle, you can post an ad to give all the books away free. Find the Freecycle forum in your area by going to freecycle.com. Not to mention Goodwill, Salvation Army . . . do you have a VA Hospital?

Selling on amazon.'com is really easy. Also, youcan use that site to figure out which books to resell and which one to donate.

The simplest thing is to donate to a library book sale and take a tax writeoff.

It's .org . ;-)
Here's the link http://www.freecycle.org/.

You would not believe the stuff that people take - that you think has zero value. Or any use. But they do.

If you go that route, or Craigslist, you might want to spend the day with her just so she won't be alone when people come to the house to pick things up. Also, if you can move the books to the garage, then she won't have people in the house.
Just a safety precaution.

By chance do any of you know any nuclear engineers in the South Carolina area that would be willing to pick them up?
You might check the School of Engineering at any local or nearby colleges to see if they might want them for their archives, etc. Just a thought.

I made a lamp out of 6 books. Made a base of wood and then drilled a hole through the books (in center). You have to be careful drilling (clamp and go slow). Put a lamp kit on and you are done....except for the lampshade. We love our little lamp. I've seen pictures where a table was made out of books, etc.

Good luck.
