I agree. The lattice-look is charming.

Your colors are beautiful. Personally, I would like a narrow dark blue sashing that would set off the blocks. Your gift will be loved and appreciated whatever you decide.

I see on my computer a lot of purpley blues together, AND I LOVE THE LOOK. I feel if you sash it they may get lost from each other[the purpleyblues and the blues and yellows.]. But since the fabric is gorgeous, whatever you choose will be wonderful. I love it.

I did a D9P with sashing on point and really, really like the effect it has. Your quilt will be lovely however you do it. Such soft, pretty colors. A special gift for a special person from the way you describe her.

I prefer no shashing. It is lovely and will be a real surprise!

Your thoughtfulness to your "new" sister-in-law is loving and very special. I really love your quilt and its colors. That is an interesting way to cut a DP4. It will be beautiful any way you do it. Another thought might be to sew your units into groups of four and put a narrow sashing around each group. I would definitely use two borders around the outside to tie all the blue and yellow together. Just a thought.

I, too love what you have done already with the colors and pattern. I like it without the sashing, but would maybe audition it with a thin sashing on point. A very thoughtful gesture on your part!!!! I would love to have a sister type relationship!!!

I agree with Tweety2911. No smashing. The blocks abutted crate a wonderful effect. What a great story. Whatever you decide to do this quilt will be loved and greatly appreciated.
