I love the dark star on the left in the second set, and I think the butterscotch star on the bottom right would be great if you replaced the large dark floral with the muted off white floral (that you used in the star point square of the block) in the 4 patch with the white so it is similar to the black star. I would save the dramatic floral for the borders. I think I would also add a 3rd colorway star block in the pinker tones and perhaps even a 4th in the greens, but I would stick to the darker color as the star points, with a pale version with the white for the rest of the block.

I really like the 2nd set of pics. Especially, I like the one on the left. But, they are both great!

My favorite is the third one (lower left).

I like the second picture better, especially the one on the left.

I agree. More striking combo on the second set.

the 3rd one caught my eye....more restful, yet you can see the pattern there the easiest. if the center 4 patch were just 1 large block, the big pattern may show up better.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have tried many combos in the last couple of days and this is what I finally came up with. Can you see where it is going? The green blocks will form "x's" over the quilt. I may decide to use the green in the border where I have the gold right now - if I have enough green, that is. These patterns would be much easier if I went out and bought fabric in the colors of the pattern but I always go to my stash and use what I have already bought. The only fabric I bought for this is the gold. I think I am going to like it.

This is much better than what you started out with. My only comment would be to consider switching the green with the butterscotch in the stars so you have dark star points and softer background squares. I kinda think you are losing the gold star points to the dark green squares. By switching the two, your gold could make the Xs as would the grayish color that goes so well with the black star points.
