Congrats on your new gem! What a fun way to start the new year!
I have found one sewing machine at my Goodwill, a plastic Singer priced at $50 and was leaking oil. I informed them that the machine was worthless due to the leaking oil and was ready for the junk pile. Clerk just shrugged her shoulders. I felt bad for the buyer who was going to make that worthless purchase.

Perhaps the owner of the machine passed away and the family is "getting rid of" everything. I think the $20.00 is good to "move" the product. I would be leary of buying a sewing machine (unless I was doing it as a collector item) at Goodwill for a high price. They are there to make $$$ so pricing low is how they do it. If they charged Retail price, it would sit there forever. $20.00 is not a great loss of $$ if it did not work. Great looking machine. Let us know how it works.

I would have jumped on that deal too. That is a good name brand sewing machine and I had one years ago. I loved mine and hope you get many years of sewing out of yours.

Our local St. Vinnie's accepts sewing machines. I see one there every once in a while.

I have this same machine and it has served me well for many years. When I go to retreat there are another 2 or four humming along. I just put mine into semi-retirement because I purchased a machine with a larger harp. What a wonderful holiday gift and blessing to find a machine with all its pieces for..$20!!! Enjoy!

Congratulations to you. As others have said the Goodwill and other thrift stores price items too high for me. Doesn't stop me from looking though, never know what you may find. BrendaK
