my two sons asked what I wanted for xmas. as I do not have an LQS close by, I asked for gift cards to JoAnns. Love gift cards.......At 76 I have pretty much all I need in other things, and this way I can get what I need for my sewing.

That sounds like a sweet guy.
I have a sweet one too, but my DH would be terrified of a quilt shop...He has no clue of our infatuations with the places.
He gave me cash last year and i spent it all in fabic shops. I'm hoping for the same this year.

Mine has done that a few times. The gals in the store say he never wants any help, he shops on his own.
1st time he bought me a lovely pair of Gingher scissors.
2 other times fabrics for quilts to match our family room (he did let them tell him how much to purchase)
Quilt books

Years ago my DH knew which small dress shop that I frequented and loved. Whenever something special came up, he headed to that shop and they always saw him coming. They knew what I had been admiring and he was great on knowing my tastes and style. As a result, he always, between those dear ladies and himself, I always received a most appreciated gift. Even my mil ended up going there to buy me a gift. At that time I was not into the quilting groove, but the thought reminded what you DH has done for you. Feel that you are dearly loved and he wants to treat you as such. God bless and happy holidays.

My LQS has a 'wish list' like a gift registry where you pick out items you want and when someone comes to shop for you they can tell them exactly what you want. My daughter found out about it and told me to get on it, so I went shopping yesterday. Had some fun. Will see if anyone takes advantage of it this year. You might check and see if you LQS has something like that and if not suggest that they do.

My BF makes purchases with me all year long and doubles whatever actual yardage is needed for the project. This week while shopping I lost my favorite bracelet (not expensive but sentimental) and he came home from a trip (over the road truck driver) with 2 yes 2! new ones! Sorry ladies I am keeping this one!
