The color in this is way off but it will give you an idea of what I am talking about. I was disappointed with it but she loves it because it is "so Ed". He was a quiet, unassuming person who found joy & beauty in the natural and everyday things in life.

I am in the process which will take about 10 years of making a Memories Quilt for our Grandson out of material of dresses (satin) and her hospital scrubs-she passes away almost a year ago, now have many of her pictures, and also all of our Grandsons, so will put pictures on the satin-most on her wedding dress, and prom dresses-3 of them, this will be hard, and will take so long, so I can give it to him as a wedding present, our daughter would have loved the idea, our son in law, got rid of all her quilts and afghans just recently after he remarried, thank GOD he kept her wedding dress for me, and all her pictures.

I felt making one for my step daughter from her grandfather's clothes. It was my first time doing something like this, but there was a sense of closure for me as he lived with us his last 6 years of his life and she was thrilled with the gift.

These bears turned out absolutely beautiful. What patten did you use to make them?

Hint: if you run into fabrics that are worn pretty thin you can interface them with an interfacing made specifically for silk fabric. I did this and it worked really well without adding too much excess bulk. Sorry I don't know the exact name of the stuff. It was purchased at a local LQS.
