I love Command Strips but had not thought about using the refill strip to mark 1/4 seam! I have a ton of the extra ones that came with the hooks. I didn't even think about using the Command Strips to hold my rulers on the wall! I did use them to mount a "shoe caddy with plastic pockets" on the back of the closet door.

Off to print some coupons! BTW, Dollar General does have some of the smaller sets.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU BellaBoo.....i have been cutting up painter's tape rolls into "chunks" for years to use as the 1/4" guide -but this is brilliant ---- can't wait to try it (if/when i ever get my machine back from the fixit shop)

I'm on my way to get me some command strips. I, too, have a 1/4" foot with guide, but this would really help keep the seam straight. Thanks for sharing.

you could put it on then slice it where the bobbin cover is I have done that with other methods of marking ex painters tape. then can replace bobbin without taking it off.

Thanks for the link to the coupons. This is a great hint - I have been using layers of masking tape but hate the residue it leaves.

After seeing this great tip, I went to my machine to sew and noticed that if I used the Command strip, it would go over about 1/2 of one of the set of 'teeth' on my machine ( a Singer) Does anyone think this would be detrimental to my using the Command Strip?

Great idea! As for your long trailing threads, you might want to consider Bonnie Hunter's whole idea of leaders and enders. It's a much better use of your thread, your sewing area will be much less messy AND you're making parts of other quilt projects at the same time. Great time management.

That was my thought too but I think I'll try cutting it apart where the cover meets the machine so that when I slide the cover off, it will take that part off with it. Worth a try?
