I hope I state this question without any confusion. After reading your instructions I am wondering, attention needs to be placed on the number of pie slices of even numbers to achieve the desired results of ie: a and b blocks.....say a being the yellow outside and b being the blue outside. 20 blocks=80 pie pieces=40 yellow outside and 40 blue outside. So when cutting the pie slices only cut 1/2 of the strips starting on the yellow then 1/2 the blue as you only get 3 of the pie slices with the larger strip of color per strip and 2 of the opposite since you said you only get 5 pie slices per long wof strip.
Clear as mud?????? Sorry just trying to clarify as I don't want to end up with the wrong number of pies in one of the colors.
Thanks for your posting.

Your question is a great one and I didn't mention it in my instructions. I guess this is why I don't write quilt patterns for a living!! LOL! You are indeed right, you want to end up with 40 triangles of each color pattern. Since each strip yield an odd number (5 without piecing ends to squeeze out a 6th) you have to cut slightly more strips on one of the color patterns. I sorted my triangles as I cut them, keeping count of each of the 2 piles to be sure I was going to come out with 40 of each---especially since I was running tight on one of the fabrics. If you have at least 1 1/4 yards of each of the 3 fabrics you will have extra fabric to make another strip set to get additional triangles of the specific color group you need.
