That was such a gracious letter.

I am also sad to hear her news. She will be missed by many, including me.

I also love Nancy. She has been an inspiration to so many of us. Gutsy lady for sure.
I would suspect that so many people tried to visit her site that it was overloaded and went down. I did read her explanation of her illness earlier, but after watching her show today, I wanted to print the pattern for the infant hat. All I got was an error and could not find.

She has always been a great role model.

MadameKelly, thank you for responding with a link. The pattern I am looking for uses only one seam. Nancy interviewed two women who help put together packs for new mothers. One of the women is a nurse and said many of the deaths of infants in developing countries are from hypothermia, losing their normal body heat, so the little fleece caps are an integral part of the pack that also includes blanket size about 36" or 40" square, burp cloths, gently used gowns and sleepers, a few diapers, etc. I am part of a group that sews for missions in the French Congo, and discouraged our members from using fleece or flannel for blankets and gowns. My concern was that the babies would be too hot. On Nancy's show I learned what is really needed. It is from Nancy Zieman that most of us learned about making the "Little Dresses for Africa", often referred to as the "Pillowcase Dresses". The patterns for those and the "Little Britches" for boys can be found on her website.

I just printed off that pattern with one seam. Maybe check her website/blog?
