Yes, I did all handwork, hand quilted it and it was the size of a bedspread for a queen sized bed. It is now at the dump. :(

She sure was dumb!! A bottle of wine only lasts for a little while and only has its original value. A quilt lasts for years and gains value! Some people are just hard to understand.

I have made a queen sized quilt for my church to raffle last two years. This year when I brought the quilt up at a Women's group meeting, I was told that I hadn't followed proper procedure and gone through the proper members of the chair person, the treasurer, etc and that I couldn't go on just "willy-nilly". I followed the same procedure I had used in the previous year. I let it be known that my feelings were hurt and that I made the quilts for the church and the women of the church. I hung in there and was reassure by all members that they all love my quilts very much and all of them wanted one of them. Eventually said Chairperson called me and apologized but it was hard to forget. By the way, I had my pleasure when I sold her a raffle ticket. The other women were wonderful. They are now nudging for next years quilt.

Too bad people dont know how much time quilters put into their work. Quilting is a passion and for us we see the beauty in every quilt, but others dont.

I'm sure whoever won your quilt, loved it. I wish I won it. I rarely keep anything for myself.

I bet so.....otherwise why would she have even thought of anything so stupid? I think we are realizing her problem now. ha ha ha! Poor lady. Now we can have pity on her since she has no idea what a quilt is for. Why was she even at the show?

The person who made that remark must not have been a quilter and not know how long it takes to make one. Because no quilter would ever say something so hurtful.
