Quiltermama...awesome finishes! Congrats! That must feel so good....
sewbiz....I love your house quilt. Black, white, and red....one of my top five fav color ways. Cool Panel..
Even in and amongst my moving preparations, I've been able to sit down in the evening for a couple of hours and work on my nephews queen wedding quilt. Happy to share the main top is assembled and now working on piano key border. I ordered 108 backing to make it easy on myself. I'll have to find a LA in Idaho. So much extra fabric that I hope to make some pillow shams and throw pillows but not committing myself. If it happens ...it happens..

Did finish Good Fortune in April, made progress on the Northern Lights quilt (top is done) and on finishing my oldest UFO. It is a quilt I call Daddy’s Trees and it’s the quilt I took to hospice with me to sit with my Dad. It was started in 1994. Just a bit more quilting, attaching the binding and it is done. Long time past due, but since it was intended for him, it has been difficult to finish.
When every top is finished, have been cutting scraps into strips for the Ring Cycle quilt for Florida next winter.

I have an April finish! It's a mashup of two different UFO's so I might even be able to call it two finishes. I'll post a picture when I manage to get one taken. So, my UFO count is down by 4 or 5 for the year (depending on how to count the most recent). I also will have a May finish soon- just need to put a facing on the back edge and add a hanging sleeve--WhooHoo!
I'm hoping to be able to get my UFO count down into the teens by the end of the year. Now to search for another one to finish...

Watson, that is the Ribbon Star quilt pattern. You can find it free on the internet. I did get that one done at beginning of March. I used some ufo hst that I had made. Put the applique on to add some spark before quilting it.
Yes, these are all mine. I actually have some more finishes to post, just have to find them. These were some of mine at the quilt show. Having them hanging up made them look so much prettier than laying on the floor. I had 33 entries this year at Odessa. They wanted all my ufo finishes. I was in a contest at Experience Quilts in Odessa and they requested I enter them in the show. I have been unemployed since February of this year. This gave me time to finish my projects. I still have more to go, but at least I made a dent in my goal of 55 UFOs. I do only have 22 more to go by November. I will post pics when I get them done.
I do appreciate your kind comments.

April UFO finished!
This one is a mashup of two UFOs that had been sitting for several years. the blue parts have yard couching that was done with my Sweet Sixteen and the couching feet set. There are silk fabrics and other home dec fabrics in that part that came from my grandmother's house. The other parts with Flying Geese and HSTs are leftovers from a quilt I made in 2012- they were set aside to make another quilt, but I was just so tired of them that after I got them pieced in rows I never could manage to make myself put the quilt together LOL!
Ditch quilted the HSTs and Geese using tiny blanket stitch on the sewing machine and also used the same to stitch the ribbons down over top. Overcast the edges to bind using the same pink thread that I used in the quilting. I think it's about 42" wide by 20something high....
thanks for looking,
Rob

That looks so cool, Rob!! I watched a video of a quilter lady who encourages cutting up orphan blocks or even a full quilt tops to redesign quilts. That would make me nervous but as I think about it, I had one quilt top I never did like and I wish I would have cut it up now. Lol... Very creative, Rob..
I finished the wedding quilt top today!! Woohoo!! So excited...It's huge for me so I was a bit anxious that it would not be squared. It is the most squared quilt top I ever finished.. Phew! Tonight, I'll start clipping threads and prep it for LA. Tomorrow night, I'll start sandwich prep and maybe my LA can finish it before I leave. Then I just have to bind it in my RV...so doable... I'm so relieved.. Here's a pic before I sewed the left piano key border on...
