I haven't read all of the postings, but Jinny Beyer also has some nice pp patterns w/quite a few free. I'm hooked on pp also. I use velum and don't have too much trouble removing the paper. It's a little expensive, but better than regular paper and cheaper than Carol Doakes papers. Good luck and happy paper piecing.

    I love it - I don't have to worry about a 1/4" seam

It looks so complicated to me that I,m afraid to try it.
I would like to see it done in person.

Go to Carol Doaks site. She has free patterns and her DVD and books are great.

I read all the replies and can not add anything! Our library has a lot of books on quilting and some very good ones on paper piecing. I just take them home and copy the patterns.

Yes, I love it too!! I have made several PP'd projects and have a Judy Neimeyer PP project partially done! Will have to finish after Christmas since I have two quilts to finish!!!

    Stacey,
One of the first quilts I did was a paper pieced quilt by Judy Neimeyer. I saw the class advertised and asked if it could be done by a beginner. They said sure, and I did it. You have to visit Judy's site at www.quiltworx.com. The pattern I used was Starburst. Actually, the hardest part, after learning the paper piece technique, was tearing off all the paper after the quilt top was finished. And that wasn't really hard, just sort of boring. I love Judy's patterns, because they include all the paper that you need. When I got that quilt done I was so proud. It was hard for me to believe that I could make something that beautiful. I gave it to my daughter and her husband and they have loved it, too. I would post a picture, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet with this new system. Hope you have a wonderful time with your paper piecing. I sure enjoyed it.

I love to PP and I always use the cheapest and thinnest interfacing for my foundation and leave it in!! There are other suggestions for the foundations that can be left in and they work as well! Try it on a pattern that has just a few pieces in each block and one that is not so small!

I use the freezer paper method and you don't sew through the paper...really easy. You can do a search and find instructions for using this method.
