Yes, I think freezer paper would be good but unfortunately I have never seen it in this area. I don't order online and the nearest big city is too far away from here.....not sure I would find freezer paper there even if I did make the trip. I have heard that it is carried in some quilt shops in the area but is very expensive..

I'm working on a special quilt for my son who wants an outdoors theme with hunting/fishing. He wanted the background to be RealTree Camouflage. So...that's what he's getting. Animals from the northern woods, a focal fishing panel, personal pics of him with his previous catches and one of him and his motorcycles. One is a pic his dad took while they were having a guys day out. They took a motorcycle trip up the Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Had a great day. I've detailed everything but the background fabric. Have started it, but doc says I have tennis elbow and have to wait until it heals before quilting more. I've made him two pillowcases to match to go with it.
