Raised pretty much as only child here too Kass, my brother was 7 years older than me. When I was junior high and high school he had already moved out. This will be my 2 sons and spouses, and grandaughter's and spouses plus great grand daughter. Then Bill's kids and grandchildren, more happy family get together's. We do it once a year when everyone comes at the same time. They do pitch in and help a bunch They have to or it wouldn't happen....

Kass - the great thing of a large extended family, they come with a dish in their hands. There was one Thanksgiving, I had about 25 people and only made the turkey, stuffing and gravy. they brought appetizers to desserts! I only have one brother but have been blessed to know all four grandparents very well. My children knew their Great grandma well, and my mom just loves her great grands. It wasn't unusual to have four generations around the table each week.
