Embroidery Machines Lets Chat & Have Fun

Hello Ladies, I have a
Viking SE LE. I really don't know very much about it, but want to learn. I use the embroidery feature so far only for doing a little writing. But I want to learn. I tried the tutorials, A lot of what they say either does not work or does not make sense. I hope to glean form this group a better understanding of my very expensive paper weight! Looks like I have a lot of reading to catch up on this thread!

I was self taught at my emboridery machine and then I found http://www.artisticthreadworks.com/
I know the site is more for digitizing but there are many tutorials on things like what stablizer to use, hooping and more. Just a thought- Mona~

I was the originator of this idea and PM'd PatriceJ. Maybe if some of the rest of you would PM her and she saw that there was enough interest, perhaps she would change her mind. I went to "settings'' at the top of the page and listed this thread so I could find it if it was not on the first two pages, but I still think it would be nice to have our own section. I've noticed several other threads having to do with embroidery that would fit well in an embroidery section. If all I did was embroidery, I would join an embroidery forum (and have joined a couple), but my main emphasis is quilting and consider embroidery an addition to my quilting. Send her enough PM's to get her to at least consider it again.

For those of you interested in the embroidery design pack of Mrs. Bobbins, which I think is hilarious here's a link that has it for $79.00. Still pricey but better than $99, http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...ery+designs.do

Yes, I also purchased this machine from HSN, since Easter, it has been sitting in the corner - I was making a FSL basket, on the last panel and the machine jammed up - ruined my panel.

I have a Janome Harmony aka Memorycraft 5700 that I bought on eBay years ago. I bought the Customizer 2000 to work with it. The hoops are not even out of the plastic yet. Does anyone else use old machine/software like this?

I have officially come to the conclusion that Hemmingway embroidery thread is wonderful. I have used it on some designs for a swap and it stitches out so awesome. No breaks, no puckering, smooth and perfect.

Lori I also have the Janome 350E, how big are the magnahoops? I didn't know they could be used with the 350E. I don't do much editing but I've done tons of embroidering and I'd like to have a larger hoop for larger designs

Sorry Krystyna
Ok I MUST say this FIRST
K,
I'm TRULY sorry for corrupting you (again) but I just found ANOTHER
awesome website that has tons of even MORE awesome FSL earring
designs.
My hubs let me get a subscription to it as part of my birthday present
(I asked him if I could spend $40, he reminded me that my birthday
was in a few days anyway so yes I could have the 40).
No don't get me wrong I DO NOT ask my hubs if I can spend money
all the time, but with our budget rather tight, and for something like
embroidery website memberships yes I will ask if there is enough $$
for me to do it, bills do come first.
Soooooooo are you ready for the website?
