I have been a cashier, sold Tupperware, and for the last 31 years, have worked as an admin tech at a nuclear power plant. Retirement is still in my future, but not too close.

What is a histotechnician please. Thank you.[/quote]

A histotechnician works in hospitals or private labs with the tissues that come in from the operating rooms or Dr.'s offices. They work under a Pathologist (MD) that makes the diagnosis on the tissue that has been removed. The histotech makes the slides that the pathologist needs to look at under the microscope and does any special staining that will show up the bacteria or other features that might not show up on regular H&E staining. I've always affectionately called our department "The Parts Department"! I loved my job, but I was developing COPD (probably from all the xylene and formaldehyde I breathed over the years) and decided to retire at 65. That was 2 years ago and I haven't regretted it. I'm enjoying quilting! And hey, I'm breathing better!

I am a retired PACU (Recovery Room) nurse for 18 years before that I had worked a float to OB, Med Sur floor and Pediatrics. Prior to my nursing career, I worked as an aide in a rehab hosptial, at the same time I worked at a rubber factory. I was young and crazy then. I worked and slept. My little brother loved it because he would wake me and ask for my car and money and I would say sure. When I would wake up I would think was that real or a dream? LOL

Many in my previous life. I worked in a tax collector's office in MA, Activities Director at a nursing home, medical secretary, teacher aid for Special Ed in ME, almost forgot I groomed dogs in my own shop for a few years.

I was a Commercial and Industrial Painter for 25 yrs- with my SMDH we also sandblasted and painted heavy equipment-prior to this I was a house framer. I tried roofing but hated it.I was never one to do "girlie"things being raised as the only girl my brothers taught me how to do what they did and its been a blessing to be able to do things for myself -I have a better tool room then most menfolk I know.- (its actually bigger then my sewing room) now I'm retired and hate not having enough to do :( The days seem to drag on and on
