sewing machine needle with two eyes
#6
Double eye Sewing Machine needles are used for decorative stitching. You can use two colors in a single stitch. They can be found at:
http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/p...RODID=prd62113
Additionally, there are more to be found at: Amazon.com
They sound like fun! I'll have to try them myself!

cool...would love to try them, but joann.com is out of stock...sigh..
amazon is not selling them, a sewing vac place it and they are way too costly...
createforless is out of stock, and so are a couple other places..
BUT I did find them here...and they are cheaper than any others!

I've got the same (or similar) effect by threading one needle with two threads! Use a size larger than you would normally think, put one spool on the machine, and the other on another spool pin or a holder behind the machine, and sew a bit slower than normal.

OK, take a look at this site. I know the needles are specifically for metallic thread, but having holes lined with teflon so the thread doesn't "catch" sounds like a good idea to me. And they aren't so expensive, for specialty needles. And they're available.
