My Pfaff died tonight. Well, it didn't really die, but it might as well be dead. I only had for 6-7 weeks, but I grew to love and depend on her. She showed me that I was capable of doing machine quilting. Luckily, I was only zig-zagging when it happened, so I was able to get my back-up and keep going.

The arm that raises and lowers the pressure foot broke. I had to pry my quilt out.

That's terrible. Hope you didn't damage your quilt getting it out. Are you going to be able to get her fixed?

How does a broken lever equal a dead machine? Sounds like an easy fix to me. Of course, finding the part or donor machine may take a bit....

I can't use it, so it's as good as dead. I can't even get it open to get into it to see if I could MacGyver it up!

I won't be throwing it away. I don't know what I'm going to do with it. I'd love to have it fixed, and maybe I can mess with it this weekend. I don't think I'll have any luck finding this part, but who knows what I can rig up??

I'll be ready with my paperclips and duct tape!

Well since it is already broke - and at this point you feel you have nothing to lose I would get it opened and try to fix it . Should just be some screws to get it opened What have you got to lose ?

Oh my goodness, looks like that part IS available!! I found it on ebay! So maybe....

There is an excellent Pfaff repairman on Kingston Pike in Knoxville. He fixed my 1222E in less than a week. He is no more expensive than any other repairman AND he really likes the 1200 series machines.
