NEW Christmas Eve Tradition
I thought this was a super neat idea!!! It's a Christmas Eve box!!! They get new pjs, a Christmas movie, hot chocolate, snacks for the movie, etc!!! I'm adding this as a new tradition.

My family has done the Christmas Eve pj's since the 60's. Thought to discontinue two years ago and the grands were in tears at the thought of stopping the pj surprise--so happily it continues. By the way, my grands are all young adults.

That is a great idea - gives them something to open and keep them busy on Christmas eve and hopefully tires them out.
We always opened all of our gifts on Christmas eve, we would go for a ride come home and find that Santa had already been there.

That was always a tradition for us when my children were small. They got to open 1 gift on Christmas Eve, and it was always new " Christmasy" nighty gowns, with the little sleeping bonnets, that I had made them. I have 3 daughters, we left that tradition behind as they got older, but I have lots of pictures and good memories.

We really didn't have many traditions. Just me making sure the house was totally clean for Santa. I'm sure glad I stopped that when the three kids got older. They stopped believing and I stopped that crazy cleaning. My house was always clean when they lived at home. I wanted it freshly cleaned.
Grandkids are all too old and two Great Grands live far away. Other Great Grand is too young. I am happy to step aside and let Grandparents do whatever they want.

My mom, when she first became a grandma, used to make jammies for my son, then she started making him christmas jammies every year. Then my brothers got jealous so she made them flannel jammie pants (and applique'd on a tshirt), when my sister had kids, she just naturally fell into the making jammies for everyone. So now she makes jammies for the little kids and does flannel/cotton pants with applique'd t-shirt for the adults every year. They go to the kids mass on christmas eve night, then drive around looking at lights then come home and open them. We all wear them all day on christmas day when we open presents. It is a real chore finding the right material for everyone, mom starts on the after christmas sales.

I was never blessed with children and I certainly don't fit into the young category (more like the "middle aged" category!) but I get new pajamas every Christmas Eve too and have for many many years!!!
