Hmmm, Suggestions on blocks for these two colors?

MY middle DD is somewhat difficult to describe. We generally go with 'a Girly-girl who can kick you butt'.
She's really into the sophicticated '50's pink and black color ways and I'd like to do a quilt with just those two colors for her. Anyone have a suggestion for a block pattern?
I was thinking a single Irish chain maybe....

Monkey wrench with differents blacks and different pinks would make an awesome quilt.
