Can instant coffee be used for coffee dyeing? Or is it best with ground coffee??? Thanks for any suggestions.

I've never used coffee but I have used tea bags. Being careful not to break the bags because its hard to get all the little leaves washed out. I'm not sure that it is colorfast. I always heard it would eventually wash out. I've done this for pillow covers that I have painted, not a qulit that gets washed a lot.

I have posted asking if the cotton clothesline can be dyed, to sew bowls etc. I figured that if it would dye a shade of off white, washing would not be an issue.

try it and see...it seems like it would work even better than brewed coffee you can really make a 'strong' mixture to soak the fabric in and it is still coffee. although...instant tea did not work so well compared to tea bags, but i wonder where instant tea comes from? ;)it is certainly not tea leaves....hmmmmmmmmmm

I have used coffee to dye hemp fabric, it worked well. You can also dye your hair with coffee and rubbing coffee grounds all over your body in the shower works wonders on the skin ;)

Dye your hair with coffee? Now how does that work? And does it do anything to your hair, not that chemically treating doesn't. Funny.
