This is my third one for Jan's SIL's men in Afghanistan. It may look simple, but I turned it into a nightmare with stupid mistakes. The backing is the same blue as the border. When I started quilting it I put blue thread in the bobbin and was using red thread on top. At some point when I changed the bobbin, I put in a red one!! Of course I didn't realize the error for quite awhile. Needless to say, there was a lot of thread picking to get it in acceptable condition (ended up using red on bottom, too.) But it was all a 'labor of love' to say thank you for all these soldiers do for us. Hope this doesn't look too feminine.

I love the colors and don't think they're too feminine at all. I think it has an oriental feel to it.

Are there only men in Afghanistan? Either way, I think it would suit anyone's taste. The colors are lovely, pretty in a handsome sort of way. Great job and Great colors.
