From the pictures, it looks like each white rectangle and each red rectangle is 2" x 5". I think the triangles are 6"? Then it looks like she trims these blocks down to 6 1/2", and once 4 are sewn together, it forms a 12 1/2" unfinished (12" finished) block.

Sorry I used these as pictures in a workshop. I ask what they see in the picture , a wrong line would b e for them to find as all quilters can do the diagonal join.
I also try to not say this is the correct and only way
Widths 2" by 6 " for rectangles
The large triangle was a square halved .
I did make al. Pieces much larger for mistakes and to change sizes.

Look at the cutting board and the inch marking lines.
Thank you all for the comments.

The star is beautiful, but am having hard time with tutorial.

That looks a lot like Deb Tucker's method, without her ruler. Which I have and have never used.

I am brand new to this site. LOVE your approach! I have been drooling over the hunter star for a long time, but haven't mastered the bias edge or scant 1/4" enough to try. Taking apart a quilt now that was supposed to be a wedding gift. The blocks came out different sizes from 15"-17" (kind impossible to make that work). Anyway, this really short circuts bias issues from the look of it. I could not tell what size your finished squares (which became triangles) were, as that pic was a little distorted. I'm also kicking around some thoughts to cut down on waste a little bit, because I LOVE your concept.

Hunters Star is SO easy with Deb Tuckers ruler, I have made at least Four Hunter Star quilts from scrappy to two fabrics only they all come out beauitful
