I will tell how I sewed blocks for that quilt - http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-50511-1.htm

My English is not too good but I will try :D .

I did not use special rulers for this block. I had only a triangular ruler and usual square ruler at my order.
I didi it anyway. :D

However, my pictures are detailed so I hope you will understand all only on photos.

All strips on pictures have width 1 1/2 inches, the size of squares is 4 inches.

Step 1.
To cut a light strip on a trapezes:
(Length of the short party of each trapeze - 1 3/4 inches, the long party - 4 3/4 inches.)

Hi CAROLJ ! :-)

Then to repeat first six steps having changed a dark and light fabric. It means to cut a dark fabric on a trapeze and to sew them to light strips. Also to cut light squares on triangles.

After that it is possible to collect the block.
The first variant:

Easy instructions. I also bookmarked. I want to make a quilt for my brother and his new wife. I think this will be good. I wanted stars because he was in the Navy and she is from Brazil. Looked at your blog. Beautiful things and photos.
Looked at some of your other photos too. Did you take all of them ?

Yes, I took them :) except where I told to my Russian friends about different international quilting news.

KathyAire 06-22-2010 10:45 AM

I love the Hunter's Star. Your colors are great. What is the size of the block when all four pieces are together?
Thanks.

roolen 06-22-2010 11:05 AM

9''

You can create any size. The main thing - all strips (dark and light) should be one width and the diagonal of a triangle should be equal to the short party of a trapeze with the sewn diamands.

jolo 06-22-2010 11:10 AM

wonderful, and instructions were easy to follow. JO

dixiechunk 06-22-2010 12:09 PM

You did a great tutorial! Like a gazillion times better than I could in Russian...seeing as how I only know one word in Russian and that would be vodka.

ekbuckeye 06-22-2010 02:13 PM

Roolen, your tutorial is great and even easier to read here than the translation on your blog! I'm always impressed when I see your wonderful quilty things on the HGTV mb.

Evie 06-22-2010 04:03 PM

I love your quilt and your instructions are very easy to follow. Another one added to my already long list of some-day projects to do! :) Thanks you! And your English is certainly much better than my (non-existent) Russian!
