Default 1913 New Home

Hello,

Yesterday I received my latest machine,# 21 in my collection, a 1913 New Home treadle head converted to an electric in a portable case. I removed the electricals and after a thorough cleaning and serviceing I will post some pictures. In the meantime, I can't find much info on these machines and would like a manual. Does anyone have a link to a database other than the serial numbers. It's a pretty neat machine and totally different than the others in my collection. I saw one listed as an 1895 unit, and mine looks exactly the same so it appears that no signaficant changes took place. It's a long bobbin and has a nifty top mounted tensioner and I was able to sew a little with it so(no pun) I know it works. I am hopeing to learn more about this machine and any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rodney

yep.i like those, too. I'm bored with the usual Singer Kenmore stuff. There are good user Yahoo Groups. Needlebar.org has wonderful photogaph model ID info. I'll get more for you after work, phone is awkward. If you can post a pic, it would be great!

Please show a picture. If you don't find an online manual, I've got several of them and could scan one for you if it goes with your machine.

Today right before I left, the mailman brought me my New England Queen. this machine looks just like an older New Home on the outside, but is not made by Eldredge (before they became National) and is called the Seamstress Model. I'm looking forward to getting back home so I can see what shuttle and feet will fit.

BTW - if you need feet for it, send me a PM. I got through my White feet this AM, and have the New Home to go through next, and expect to have a few extras.

Oh, and Jim - I've not forgotten you, just taking me a lot longer to get through all my stuff and figure out what I want to keep and what needs to go to a new home.

Cathy,

Here are a few pics of my New Home. I noticed on the shuttle cover a list of thread/needle combination and 7 small numbers-3364035 and they match the small numbers stamped on the edge of the base. I assumed this is the s/n of my machine.

Pretty one! Much more graceful lines than the more modern machines.

Looks like a twin to mine.

This is the Eldredge "Seamstress" model next to the New Home machine -
