Wow I have to try - will it work on the one with the greyhound on it, too?

No, sorry. Wrong direction.

Don't know. A picture of the machine you're asking about. Especially a shot of the open face, so the needle-bar connector shows clearly.

Timing is not all that hard if all you do is change the height.

These are very nice machines. Check out the motor pulleys as they do get flat spots just like the White rotaries do.

Cathy- Great Tip! on the needles. If I do pick one up at some point I'll keep it in mind. So far thru no skill of my own I've only bought machines that take 15x1 needles but I came close on one Free-Westinghouse.

That cabinet had some fantastic veneer on it. Very pretty. Sorry I talked you out of it. I'm here to enable, not be the voice of reason.
Hanging my head in shame...

OK that would be more of a problem than setting the needle bar. Where do you get new pulleys. The machine I have may be one of the NOS I got a while back. I'm thinking there may also be some electrical connection issues, too. They go bad just setting around.

Grinding will work. However a needle-bar height correction is a one time thing. Grinding is every needle. I'm too lazy to do that.
