Monza (where the machine was made) is just NNE of Milan. It is in the furniture making area of Italy and I suspect that that beautiful cabinet is custom built. I have never seen anything similar. I would not have been able to resist either.

Oh yes, beautiful cabinet! You are right, it probably is hand made and by a real craftsman for sure. Lucky you to find it and smart you to buy it even though you did not need it.

If the cabinet and Italian singer are original to each other I think I'd leave them together.

after thinking about it, I agree. I don't have a 15 yet and having an Italian singer15 in its orig cabinet is wonderful. I will clean up the machine and leave them together.
