I have joined your ranks!
Today is my birthday and I got Stella for my special day. I found her at a consignment store and was delighted to find that she only needed a belt. Well, I didn't know much about treadle machines, until I can home from putting a down payment on it and looked it up on line. I knew it was a white, but was horrified to find out there were different types of whites. To my relief, after going back and looking at it, it was one that parts are easier to find for (according to the website I was reading). Looking closer at the machine I found it was also missing the bobbin case and bobbins. There is a store close to me that services machines and I ran to them. They had the bobbin case and bobbins deep in the back. I was able to get those and a belt. Now I just need to do a bit of cleaning and oiling and figure out how to put the belt on and I am good to go. I can't wait to get started. (Sorry the pictures are side ways, I can't figure out how to get them turned.

Welcome aboard! Your White looks like it's in really good shape. It should be a good machine for you. There are plenty of tutorials here on caring for your machine. Check here, someone has to have posted about putting a belt on a treadle. It seems like every time I do a search on vintage machines I find a link to this forum that has the answers I need.

Welcome aboard, Alaska..... Happy Birthday. Stella is a good choice. You're not the only one that goes out and gets a gift for one's own birthday.... I do it every year. I'm sure you will get many years of great sewing with your choice. And, when you have questions, there are many here that can help.
