I haven't seen one like this before. It looks nice and I'll bet it's as strong as a tank.
It's nice sewing on a cabinet. Everything lies nice and flat. Does yours have a knee or a foot controller? Mine has a knee controller. It didn't take me long to get used to though, my grandmother had one. Of course, that was fifty years ago.

I like my Kenmore. The first machine I had was a Kenmore portable. I sewed a lot with it. Finally was able to get a new one with more stitches and my father and I built a cabinet for it to set in using old singer legs and I still use it. I love the way I have room for large projects and drawers for all the attachments, needles and etc.
I still dislike using a portable, haven't found a satisfactory add on table. Still looking, most are out of my budget.

Tate Elliot: it has a knee controller.
I'm settling into this one very easily-almost like it was made for me
It's whispery quiet
I pieced a bit on it after I got caught up a bit on chores
Very nice so far
It will take me a while to master using the cams though

I have one just like it. I found it on CL for $25. Of course I had to drive 120 miles to get it but it was still a great deal. Mine had most everything included. I had to replace the bobbin winder tire and I do believe I need a new belt because it does slip a little at times on takeoff and I can't seem to tighten the hand wheel tight enough. To be as old as it is it is in wonderful shape.
I haven't tried the cams yet. I have never sewn on a machine that used them and I guess I want to get really used to it before I try them out.
I haven't been able to find much out about the Tri Span 88's. It is a short shank which should help with getting any feet you may need. I am very pleased with mine. It is as heavy as a tank. I have even sewn leather with it. It went through it like a breeze. Good luck with it.

There is a tutorial on http://vssmb.blogspot.com/search/lab...clamp%20washer
for setting the clutch on a sewing machine. You may want to see if it helps with your machine.
