Leather Paint for Cases

Leather Paint for Cases
I bought a little, worn leather earring case that was a perfect doll size for my granddaughter and found pink leather paint online. I was amazed at how beautifully it turned out. So, when I was looking at my Featherweight case and the handle was really deteriorating (down to tan leather that was just flaking off), I thought it would be worth a try and ordered black leather paint. I'm really happy with it.
It's still not a thing of beauty, but it's sealed, not flaking, and looks a lot better. The leather paint worked really well on the corners and other wear spots, sealing and smoothing where it was worn through to the cloth.
Sorry there's no 'before' picture to show how bad it was, but trust me, this is much better.

This stuff is thicker, kind of the consistency of bottled acrylic paint - which is what it is! It's flexible when it dries, so it really adds some substance when you do two or three layers.
I think shoe polish is a good idea, too. When I'm done (have to glue down part of the covering that came loose at the base), I'll do that.
