My mom had that one. I learned to sew on it. :)
The little tire-thingie on her bobbin winder had disintegrated, too. She wrapped a rubber band around the spoke and it worked fine (had to press it up against the flywheel to wind the bobbin, but whatever). Oh, and I don't think you need the gripper knob on the stitch-length lever. If I remember correctly it was just a plastic cover. Yours probably got brittle with age and fell off at some point. It's just aesthetic.
