Default Mystery notion

Hello fellow enthusiasts, I have another mystery item that arrived with a local CraigsList purchase of a vintage Burlington sewing box/stool that was filled with sewing notions. The center knob shown in the photo retracts the spokes into the wheel. Does anyone know what it's purpose is?

Maybe one of those knitting wheels. Be nice to see the back. Like a loom wheel type thingy?

I think it might be a daisy maker? You wrapped yarn around the spooks to form a daisy, you sewed the center and then retracted the spooks to pop it off. The daisies were then crocheted together to form a lacy blanket. I could be totally wrong though.

Tartan is correct. It is also known as a daisy loom.

I think I have one of these somewhere too in a box of sewing goodies that came from a flea market or auction. I do remember my mom having one of these too!
