New to the Group and clueless about Whites...
I have what I believe is a White Family Rotary, Decoration Variation, Crinkle Finish. My boyfriend and I found it yesterday at a Yard sale for $10. I dont really know anything about it other than the tid bits we have found online today. I have a special place in my heart for old sewing machines as i spent my childhood around my grandmother who was a seamstress. She passed away many years ago and though I sew a bit with my mother, this is far beyond anything I know about. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I am having a hard time finding this particular model online, there are virtually no pictures of this one, with this finish. The serial number is 1X19124. I found the videos about cleaning and oiling old machines and am so grateful to have found all the helpful information. We are going to start in on trying to clean it up soon!
Thank you!

Thanks! I figure even if it wasn't worth much (didn't buy with the intent to turn around and sell or anything) that it could be a fun project and a pretty piece in my bedroom or corner of my living room. I haven't plugged it in yet. Will probably play with it tomorrow and start trying to clean it. I have an old Singer from the 50's I inherited from my grandmother but the minute i saw this... i knew it was older. We haven't pegged down the exact year but we believe its somewhere between 1925 and 1929.

I am sooo excited for you. I am working on my first restoration and taking it slow and easy so it feels like fun. If you rush too much, I'm afraid it would feel like work. Have fun and enjoy and be sure to post photos when you are done.

White Rotary
I have the same machine. It is a 1936 that they also made in bronze. Wish I could find one of those. The wiring is to bad on mine. Will need the DH to rewire it. The cabinet is the same also, with the two drawers on the door. It is embossed into the metal. I'm not sure how to clean it. That was going to be my next question. I will be watching this tread to see what other information may show up.

Cool, they made it in bronze??? That would be worth quite a bit, I'd like to find one too! I'm looking forward to hearing more about these godzilla White machines. I never knew they existed! The cabinets are just beautiful!

I have the same machine in a Martha Washington Cabinet. It has an electric plug on the right side behind the machine. I'm still baffled about that one. I bought it as a project and haven't gotten to it yet. I do know they are rotary machines and were made after the rotary machines with the painted decals.

There's one that that sold for $350.
One thing to note as you are fixin her up. The wheel turns away from you.

Thank you! Its nice to see that it was as good of a find (especially for the price) as we thought when we spotted it on the side of the road. A bunch of young girls out with a lot of uninteresting garage sale items, i dont think anyone knew what they had nor cared. I will post pictures as we get her cleaned up and renewed.
