Default old "Victorian" picture detective work, need help

I just posted some big pics in a new album under my profile. (easier for folks who read this not to have to deal with the pics loading)

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...bums18427.html

we are trying to decipher the back to be able to place/date a pic. I would like to ask folks to look and see what you think it says, before we color the translation with the pics themselves...

if this is too "Off Topic" please let me know.

    Steve

Hard to tell. The first two are out of focus. Maybe read "white dress" and "black" in the third one, and the last one is unreadable.

Have you tried your photo editing/enhancing software? I have done that when trying to read the writing on the backs of old photos.

I am sorry for the quality. The writing is almost invisible when viewed straight on. only at an angle can you see it...

My DD is a great photographer with a great camera. I will ask her to get better pics tonight. Thanks for looking anyway folks.

Try playing with the contrast and sharpness in photo editing software.

All I can guess is white dress and blue ribbons. My first thought was the same as Caroline. I think you will be able to use the contrast to see more. On one of the photos, I thought that I saw "piping" and either block or black. Good Luck. It's fun to see what the old photos were and what was important enough to be written on the back.
