I bought a Pfaff 1222E today at a garage sale for $20! The foot lever (plastic) is broken, but I have the broken parts and I'm thinking a little epoxy will hold it until I can order a new one. It came with some attachments and about 40 Pfaff bobbins.
After sewing on crummy machines my whole life, I now have a vintage straight stitch Singer I absolutely love, and now hopefully with a little cleaning, another workhorse for more decorative stitching. I feel like a kid at Christmas.
Extremely grateful for having found this forum and the kind people who so generously share their knowledge.
Vicki, mine has the manual, but it's for the 1222E, 1213, 1214.

The other thing too is that a lot of shops will tell you that the parts aren't available because they want to sell you a new machine. I just got finished replacing a needle clamp on a 1222 that sat for 13 years because the owner was told that the part wasn't available. Its fast becoming a pet peeve when SMG say that because 95% of the time, I can get the parts still. I'll fix a 1222 before I'll put comparable money (a service and parts) into a modern machine.

I have found the manual online, just not sure I want to print off 71 pages so hoping the last owner finds the manual, bobbins and i can get them. I am excited to try the built-in walking foot.

I have a Pfaff 1222E that was bought new from a demonstrator at a craft fair. The original receipt was dated 11-8-79 for $892.50. It has only had 1 part replaced (the timeing belt). It still sews the best of all my machines.
