I own one of these beauties. It was my DGMs. I call it my shark skin and it can do anything you ask of it. Pretty isn't everything.

I have always kind of liked the "Godzilla" finish and that one sure was a better deal than the first 301 Singer that I have spotted in my lookings. I was checking out at the local antique Mall yesterday with my half gallon Blue Ball jar that I use as cabinet top ornaments, filled with beans, when I looked up, for some reason and there way up high on top of some cabinet was a shiny black Singer 301. I almost heard celestial music. The only one that I have searched for, for several years. Price on it is $340. I foolishly asked if he didn't want to trade for one of my black Featherweights, but he just snickered and said he didn't think so.

I learned to sew on this type of machine, I love it....never had any problems with tension etc Give it a try, you will love it....

One like it in our local SA White with same finish and dark cabinet. $300.00 (cough, cough). Heavy not attachments does have power cord and knee pedal.

I like it. If I were nearby, that would have already gone home with me. froggyintexas

That's a serious looking machine. No frivolous stitching with that one. Cabinet leaves a bit to be desired, though ;)

I learned to sew on my mom's Singer 66 crinkle finished machine and I really like the crinkle finishes. And I like this machine's simple lines. $50 is a bit much for my budget but I agree with others, I sure do like the looks of this machine.

My grandmother had one of these and I loved it. It was really a work horse and never gave her any problems.

The cabinet looks very similar to the dressers in my mom's bedroom! Kind of makes me nostalgic - she's had them since before I was born. But no more old machines until I fix the two that I have!!
