Irishrose, just go to the bottom on this page and type in the page number in the little box where it says "jump to page."

I know on the 221, I have to replace the felt pad on the bottom, but in general, what is the best way to get rid of the smell in the machines? Thanks, Nancy

Nancy you can clean the machines with kerosene. The kerosene will not harm the finish or decals, but will clean up the old oil. I have never gotten a machine that has that smell coming from the machine itself? I bet it is coming from the bottom cover of those machines - something that can absord odor? I'd toss any thread still in the bobbins, the felt thingy on the spool pin (if there is one) that the thread sits on, anything that could absorb odors. Let us know if you solve the problem.

It is in great shape.
I live an hour away, but just don't need another machine.

If only I were visiting in-laws - like 30 minuites from them. Drool!

Oh My, I'd get that machine in a minute! Geeze, that Free could be dropped into a treadle really easily, or made a hand crank with that hand wheel! I love my Free treadle, would love to have that one too -- put I'd make it a treadle!

Congrats,

Quiltgranny, that is a beautiful quilt -- what a wonderful gift! I hope the recipients of that quilt appreciate the work and love that went into that quilt. I also love you Avator quilt -- very striking looking quilt!

Very cute machine, it looks like a version of my New Home T No 3 pictured on page 665. Very nice cabinet too.

Better nuts than dead, Billy. Just bite the bullet and rest, you'll be glad you did. I had this crud last year for almost 6 mos and it truly about did me in.

Do any of you know if you can still get needles for the Childs Vintage Sew Handy Electric machine? I am wanting to purchase one for my daughter but not sure if I can get needles for it.

Thank you, Bojangles. I knew I had seen the prior access somewhere, but I was looking at the the numbers at the top of the page.

Does anyone else think Little Miss No Name Leader on page 872 and Miss Kenwood on page 916 look a lot alike?
