I have an old Necchi machine (1955) but new to me. It has two strips of masking tape on the bed. I think it was to mark inches as she was a seamstress and made tailored suits etc.
I have tried wd-40, Opps, and anything else I could think of to remove the strips. Does anyone here have any more suggestions? I don't want to damage the paint. I just want that tape off from the machine!!

I took my ROSIE (white featherweight) to group last night, after about 2.5 hours it started to smell like something burning. I turned it off and dh will look at it maybe tomorrow, any suggestions as to where he should start? I am just sick to think i might have hurt her!

Oh Elsie, you are going to be in love with your 319. I have one and it sews beautifully! I use the decorative stitches after piecing on my 221. I do need to keep the instructions handy, though. It has a lot of information and I think it would be difficult to use it without the manual! Enjoy. :)

With the meds you're taking I would sleep for days. Hope you will try the vicks on the bottoms of your feet and then put socks on, it seems to help all the aches and pains besides the coughing. Hope you try it.

One good tip I learned from another member was to join some long strips while you are learning to treadle. Something like the tube quilt is a good project for a new treadler... I am just now getting to where I can move my hands and reposition the work without stopping while treadling. I think a lot of my problem is an old, loose belt, tho. I really need to stop and shorten that thing so I won't have to cuss at it so much.

I sewed the strips in my avatar with my treadle..another good tip I found from another member, was to mark your 1/4 " with a free magnetic business card. I tried it and it works great!

Thank you for that l have just bought a 222k and am about to use that today as well l just love my machines and l love belonging to this site it is so interesting to see the pictures of the machines and read the updates on machines and how to fix the problems l have learn'd so much keep it up

Whoda thunked it? A magnetic business card for a seam guide! :lol: Now that's recycling and reusing! :thumbup: Of course, just last week I pitched 4 of those in the trash from our new phone books. :roll:
