I tell folks collecting sewing machines is like a drug addiction you just have to have more! I know that I am going through detox right now even though I bought a couple while laying in bed earlier this week. Every Saturday I drive around looking for Estate Sales just knowing the next rare treadle is going to be in there. I even go online looking at the sale companies web pages and seeing where the good sales are going to be at.

I am glad I have a great support group like you guys that keep me in line and making my wish list grow even more. :thumbup:

I use sewing machine oil for mine. just oil all of the moving points of the treadle and your good. But if it is a Singer treadle your working with they usually clunk and clank a bit anyway. Just adds to the experience. ;)

I had a dispute over two sewing machine manuals I ordered through e-bay - paid with Paypal -- and never received. It is a very simple process. You open the claim. Tell them why you are opening a claim. The seller is given 30 days to respond. If the seller does not respond, you escalate the claim, but remember if you do not escalate the claim before the 30 days is up, Paypal assumes the two of you solved the problem and will not proceed. So, if no resolution within a couple weeks or so, I'd put the claim in esculation status then Paypal will take it and usually refund your money. That is what happened with my claim.

I did speak with a very helpful gent at PayPal last night who encouraged me to open a dispute. The Seller was actually threatening me, so I felt it necessary to let PayPal know this kind of behavior was going on.

He told me the Seller has only 10 days to respond to them. I wonder if the # of days has changed, or if maybe it depends on each case? I thought I read 20 days... So much to learn. Sheesh, I'd rather be sewing. :(

I have a tendency to use sewing machine oil while at the mirror...works better that way.. put it in one ear and see if it gushed onto the mirror through the other ear.. great way to test it's viability.

Thanks Billy, I finally got the Minnesota D working (Only have 1 needle), but one of the places has a clanking sound, and I was hoping there was a way to fix it.

I just realized I haven't been getting all my posts from our VMS - anyone else had this problem? I didn't know Billy was sick until I noticed I hadn't seen any posts from him in a while and PM'ed him. Had to go back & catch up.

WOW! The Vicks works! I can breathe and my lungs feel so much better this morning. I'm not coughing as much. Some ethnic groups believe in reflexology of the feet as an aid in healing, but this Vicks works too. Who would have thought that the bottom of the foot is that sensitive and delivery of medicine be transported that quickly from the bottom of one's foot. Thanks for sharing this cure for a cold.
