I'm watching your Singer 319 stitch issues conversation with great interest. I still have more to do to get mine to work. I've been really busy on other things and other machines lately. Yesterday I got a lot done so I'm down to just a couple machines. Mr. Ed (319) has gone back up to the top of the repair line! I have needles now but I forgot to order a belt. I have a hand crank so I may test that out on it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sitting there with the manual in one hand trying to figure out the bite thing since I turned it. I found another 319 on CL but they don't have contact info and don't answer emails. Maybe it is sold and they haven't taken it down.

According to Singer records your machine is a 15K made in Jan.-June 1908. Does your machine have the tension assembly on the face plate?

Good Morning everybody! Hope your Thanksgiving was a good one!

I just bought a 1970 Singer Touch and Sew for $5.00. I cleaned it up and plugged it in and she ran, A little clackity until I oiled her and let her set awhile. Now she sounds so purty and peaceful. Poor thing is missing some of her parts and I can't find what I need on e-bay or the Sibger co site. Anyone out there got any cams you want to sell or a cover plate and a straight stitch plate? I may spend a little money on this machine because I really like how she sounds and there is an on/ff/slow/fast button! I love it!! I also need a bobbin or two!

If she takes the top hat cams,I have some extras.

Miriam, I am really curious how it goes with your 319 when you get a chance to play with your machine. I love the looks of the 319, and the fact that my 319 had a motorectomy and sits in a treadle, but I am a little frustrated right now with the machine. I need to sit and try different fabrics and play with the 'bight' control some more. I also need to order some more needles in a larger size than a 80/12 and see if that makes a difference. Candace may have a point, something is out of adjustment with the move and set up of the machine, although, I didn't drop her or anything?

My son got the motor housing apart on the turquoise Universal. It was very hard to separate. The cord attachment (it needs a new cord) is too far in the housing for me to get at. Also a set of brushes that I see no space for fell out. Time to call in the cavalry. I will call my retired Elna repairman - if he won't do it, then I only have the guy in the store downtown. Wish me luck. I want to sew on this one badly and, no, I don't care to treadle it which I doubt is an option anyway.

I have a couple T&S 600 series your welcome to parts from if there for the cost of mailing. They seem like nice machines but on both the plastic gears deteriorated and broke. Gears are available but it seemed more trouble than it's worth. Good luck with yours

Check out this spinning wheel! I know we are not a knitting site, but a lot of quilters knit too. I don't but this is just the coolest thing. Too bad I don't live near Vancouver and don't have room for this in my house.
